The white snow dazzles, and the deep blue sky is dotted with increasingly grey, ominous clouds. A once picture-perfect scene changes within just a few seconds or what seems like a few seconds, certainly minutes to a grey, overcast, heavy sky.
Snow starts to fall gently at first, flakes of frozen water dropping silently on top of the already white ground.
The chill in the air is almost palpable, as the cool breeze fans your cheeks and lips. You walk faster now, the crunch of the snow underneath your crampons and boots as you make your way home for the night.
You see a warm glow in the distance, and know that you are nearly home. A warm, welcome drink and a bowl of hot soup and warm, freshly baked bread.
Sitting by the fire, your face tingles as the blood circulates warmly around your skin, and all is well with the world.
Such simple pleasures in life: a walk in the snow, a bowl of hot soup, freshly baked bread. We give thanks for these simple pleasures that we can enjoy.
Think just for a moment or two: what is the most simple pleasure that you love the best?
Write it in a note to yourself today to remind yourself to be grateful and have gratitude for life’s small moments of simple pleasures.
With warmth and friendship,
TRAVELGRAN.
